Synthesis of 2,5-disubstituted selenazoles by O-Se exchange

Abstract:

The interest in organoselenium compounds has been growing during the last decades due to its importance in synthetic chemistry. In particular, selenazole heterocycles are being studied because of its interesting biological properties. As part of our studies involving organoselenium compounds, we explored the cycloisomerization of alkynyl selenoamides. Herein, we report a novel tandem procedure for the synthesis of 2,5- disubtituted selenazoles by cycloisomerization of propargyl selenoamides.
