Full Article:
The silicoaluminiumphosphates (SAPO-5) have been promising as an adsorbent, as they are a crystalline microporous material. However, the small pore size of SAPO-5 brings a limitation in mass transfer about the conversion of bulky molecules. This work aims to synthesize and characterize the Microporous SAPO-5 (SAPO-5) and mesoporous SAPO-5 (SAPO-5M) with the addition of specific template, supported with different levels of transition metals, Ni and/or Zn. To this end, were synthesized the SAPO-5 and the SAPO-5M by hydrothermal method in a sealed autoclave under autogenous pressure. The impregnations were performed by the methods of the wet point. Characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Textural Analysis (BET) were carried out. The results are promising since it had a surface area increase of 195.2 m2/g to 229.8 m2/g, about 19%, and the BET area an increase of five times in the pore diameter, with the addition of the reagent to obtain higher porosity. Thus, there is provided a highly crystalline micro and mesoporous materials with their very ordered structures characteristic of SAPO-5 and SAPO-5M. It follows that the process of synthesis of SAPO-5 and SAPO-5M show to be effective for increasing the area and pore volume and with this addition of the reagent to obtain the mesoporosity, did not alter the crystallinity nor structure of the material.
