Full paper:

The rising minimalism of individual lives and its influence on sustainability are mostly conjectured by journalists and bloggers; hence, neither a concrete-empirical definition nor scientific proof of its impacts has been established in the literature. We advocate minimalism as an intentional change in consumer behaviour based on a sustainable lifestyle and strive to operationalize and demonstrate its impact on emotional well-being. This study presents a comprehensive and critical examination of consumer behaviour, with a particular emphasis on the environmentally responsible purchasing practices of individuals. The issue of "whether the behaviour of Indian customers is sustainable" is addressed with an answer. The findings of our study provide a transparent justification for why it is beneficial for consumers to adopt a minimalist lifestyle, which, in turn, can motivate manufacturers and producers to seek out more environmentally friendly methods of production that are compatible with the minimalist lifestyle.
