The Impact of Socio-cultural Systems on The Animation Industry

The Impact of Socio-cultural Systems on The Animation Industry

Ghita Ait Bensalah, Preeti Yadav ;

Full paper:

Over the past ten years, the animation industry has undergone a significant shift in its storytelling approach. Rather than relying on simple, entertaining tales filled with gags and adorable characters, the medium has increasingly drawn inspiration from real-life social ideologies and cultural backgrounds. As a result, animation has become not only an educational tool, but also a means of re-establishing national identity for postcolonial societies.This paper discusses the shift towards socio-cultural narratives that has been driven by a desire to create more meaningful and impactful stories that resonate with audiences on a deeper level. By exploring complex themes and issues, animators are able to engage viewers in a way that goes beyond mere entertainment. This has also led to a greater emphasis on diversity and representation, with stories that reflect a wider range of experiences and perspectives.
