The main objective of this study is to relate the perceptions about the adoption of digital technologies, in the present and in the near future, by Argentine and Brazilian industrial companies with two dimensions of the labor market: job creation and skills required in the demand for workers. For this, the information obtained in original and recent field surveys conducted in both countries is used. The results show a positive association between the adoption of more advanced digital solutions and a perspective of job creation in both countries. Companies expect that advances in digitization will come accompanied by the need to deepen social skills and human-machine interaction of workers. The study suggests that the growth of companies in their respective markets mediates the relationships between digital technologies and work.
