Since 2016, with the new Brazilian Traffic Code, daytime use of low beam has grown in order to keep vehicles visible on the road. Such adoption increased the automotive signaling, promoting safety to the national fleet. Brazilian legal precedent of this was the inclusion of DRL by Resolution 227, in 2007. At that time the use was not mandatory, but since 2017, by Resolution 667, the market was advised that in 2021 DRL will be mandatory in Brazil for new vehicles.
