Design possibilities in the convergence of distributed approach and digital manufacturing technologies

Costa, Christiane ; Pelegrini, Alexandre ;

Artigo Completo:

Artigo Completo:

Distributed approach technologies and digital manufacturing technologies are generating new possibilities for discontinuity of design, production and consumption models, enabling new forms of social organization, new productive, economic and environmental behaviors. Through a bibliographical review, this article aims to discuss the expansion of the possibilities of the designer’s practice, considering the emerging technologies. The focus of product-oriented design is shifted to a complex and systemic approach, which concludes that it is necessary to expand the concept and design tools including organizational models.
