Artigo completo:

The aim of this article is to analyze the recent relationship between R&D and productivity in the human health industry worldwide. For this, we used a wide database with 1,269 publicly traded companies from many countries between 2011 and 2018. We used econometric techniques of quantile regressions and dynamic panel estimated by the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). In all the statistical tests analyzed, the results show that the relationship between R&D and productivity is positive and statistically significant. The results also showed that the relationship between R&D and productivity in the human health industry is even greater in large companies based in Asia compared to small companies based in other regions. It was possible to verify that R&D spending has an increasing marginal effect in relation to productivity, that is, the more productive the company is, the greater is the impact of R&D spending.
