This paper is a result of research on the production of an object now in use to assist teachers in teaching literacy to their pupils. With this objective, research and testing were conducted together with users, in order to better assess the operation and performance of some existing teaching methods. Thus, through evaluation of tests and an analysis of the literature, some characteristics considered important for teaching literacy were adopted and the proposed object took shape. The artifact produced is already helping children to learn to write their names, letters, some words and develop a few texts, in that order of importance.
