Full article:

The Hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), a renewable biofuel derived from vegetable oils, has attracted great interest due to its low-carbon characteristics and compatibility with existing fossil fuel infrastructure. In this article, we discuss the fundamental concepts of HVO, its raw materials, the varieties of vegetable oils used in production, its properties and the different production routes. The results of the study showed that the sustainability of HVO production depends on the choice of certified raw materials and sustainable agricultural practices.
