Artigo:

The aim of this article is to compare the differences between innovative firms that cooperates with universities or research institutes and innovative firms that cooperates with other agents, such as clients, suppliers, etc., on the following topics: type of implemented innovation; P&D activities; information sources and cooperation agents. To this end, information was collected through a PINTEC 2011 (IBGE, 2013) special tabulation. Keeping in mind the concepts about interaction between universities and firms and absorptive capacity, it was able to assert that firms that cooperates with universities and research institutes implement more innovation, search for distinct sources of information, and possess more graduated people working on P&D activities, along with others.
