Full Article:
Medicine inserts are part of an information system in which users with different informational needs must interact with each other and with graphic materials designed for health purposes. Understanding the stakeholders specificities and promoting a user centered approach for design is fundamental so that information is clearly presented in the leaflets, avoiding interpretation mistakes that can lead to injuries in users’ health. This paper intends to analyze problems in the development of representations of dosage and frequency of use of medicines in health treatments, reporting the experience of designing a section in a leaflet for a fictitious medicine. It is analyzed the design process and the strategies adopted to elaborate the final prototype, which was distributed to ten users taking part in the study. These people answered two key questions, made to evaluate whether the solutions proposed achieved the goal to inform efficiently the users about dosage and frequency of drug administration.
