The article describes a study to assess the usability of an e-commerce application of a virtual store. The object of study was the shop saraiva.com and studied the usability of the application hail, available for purchases via mobile devices was performed heuristic evaluation application hail accessed via smartphone. The evaluation focused on the experience of watching security if you buy the app store. The study is an outgrowth of earlier research in which users reported that they preferred to buy via the web-browser-notebook or desktop to make purchases via the installed applications on their mobile devices and that insecurity is the main reason for this preference. The method was performed heuristic evaluation with five usability experts. They performed at different times, eleven tasks of the buying process electronic elencaram problems encountered and the problems associated with a list of heuristics combined from usability goals Norman (2006, p. 37-57),the principles of usability and Nielsen and Bidiu (2010) and the main characteristics required of a good design Dan Saffer (2009, p 19-22). Hypothesis for the study was that the application interface of m-commerce had low usability stages of the purchase process that represent security experience to users. Our hypothesis was confirmed. As a result it was found that the application hail does not have good usability in stages of the buying process as registration, authentication, search, contact call center, fulfillment and purchase order tracking. The result of this research will guide our studies at Masters level program in Postgraduate Design UFRN.
