The designer’s role in stop motion puppet development

The stop motion puppet development incurs in a sequence of following steps related to design. Among a wide range of professionals, designers stand out by mastering these steps through the roles they receive from the crafts of their carrier, thus becoming a great alternative to act in the area. Inside the animation’s field, we can detect two major focuses: the character and it’s story. Good character development ensures fluidity and perspicuity to the plot, making it easier to understand in order to hold the attention of any viewer. Each design project is unique and particular, therefore requires constant knowledge updates in different areas aiming its perfect practice. The designer needs to add in his work ruling the relevant appendage from other areas which deal with design issues.As the designer fits perfectly in the role of developing characters, an analysis of his performance in the construction process becomes relevant. Among the assignments that relate design to puppet creation we can find functionality, ergonomics, semiotics, creativity and drawing.
