Synthesis of the C5-C17 fragment of saliniketal A

Abstract:

The marine-derived saliniketals A (1) and B (2) were isolated from the marine actinomycete Salinispora arenicola by Fenical and co-workers. Their structures were confirmed by total synthesis in 2007. We wish to describe here our synthetic strategy for the synthesis of saliniketal A.
